Hi there, I’m Mary K.!

As a writer, coach, and now editor, I’ve seen the writing process from every side.

That experience shapes the way I edit—I don’t just polish words, I help you communicate your message clearly and powerfully, without losing your voice.

My Story

In January 2017, I lost my mind and started a blog.

At the time, my days were spent nursing a newborn and chasing a toddler. It was crazy, but I couldn’t ignore the restlessness in my heart—a calling to create, to share, and to connect with women outside my home.

In 2020, that calling led two friends and me to co-found New Mercies for Moms, where we helped busy moms stay rooted in God’s Word. Through writing, speaking, and self-publishing three devotionals, I learned that living out God’s call doesn’t mean doing it all perfectly; it means showing up faithfully, day by day, and following His lead.

In 2023, I co-founded Writing Off Social with my friend Sandy Cooper. Together, we coach female Christian writers to grow and nurture their audiences without social media. Walking alongside these writers—helping them clarify ideas and move forward with confidence—has been an absolute joy. But helping writers market their books inspired an even deeper passion: helping them to craft those books in the first place.

That’s what led me to editing. I know the writing life intimately, from the pitfalls of self-doubt to the thrill of phrasing a sentence ‘just so’. I also know how valuable it is to have someone beside you who truly understands. As your editor, I’ll help you bring your message to life in a way that’s faithful to your voice and your calling.

I’d be honored to walk this writing journey with you.

Writing Off Social

“Writing is hard work. A clear sentence is no accident. Very few sentences come out right the first time, or even the third time. Remember this in moments of despair. If you find that writing is hard, it’s because it is hard.”
– William Zinsser,  On Writing Well

Writing is a calling, and you don’t have to walk it alone. I’d love to help you shape your words into a book that’s clear, compelling, and faithful to the message God has placed on your heart. Together, we’ll bring your story to life for the readers who need it most.
